About Me
My story
I have been passionate about wildlife for as long as I can remember, my love and passion goes right back to my lovely Mum and Dad who encouraged my Sister and myself to get out exploring and enjoying nature as much as possible. I have been married to Jenny since 1992 where we live in north Nottinghamshire and I love it so much that we both share the same passion for the outdoors. We have had rescue dogs over 25 years now, which means we are always out and about on walks. We never go abroad and the places we visit while walking the dog are the places that anyone can visit, one of the places we go to the most is the National Trust property Clumber Park. This features heavily in my challenge
How My Challenge Works
It sounds fairly simple really!
The initial idea was to attempt to run this challenge for 365 days by taking nature related photos and then posting them on to Facebook to try and encourage others to enjoy nature too.
Every single photo I post is taken on the day, making this a totally seasonal challenge and every photo is taken on my phone as well. I do it this way to further highlight how this challenge is possible for everyone.
How It All Started
Back in November 2021 my (used to be……) friend Tasha asked me if I would like to take on a little challenge, initially it was a big no way thank you.
Fast forward 6 months to June 2022 and I was doing the annual #30DaysWild initiative from The Wildlife Trusts, which was when I thought “What the heck.” It has now just turned in to something that I do every day and just feels so normal doing it. Plus there is the pleasure I get from it, knowng that so many people take joy from seeing my photos each day.
Please note each year of my challenge starts on July 1st, which was the day I started it all.
Can Anyone Do It?
Absolutely! If you would like to try something like this, start small and pick a theme that works for you. It doesn’t have to be nature related, any interest or hobby will work for you. Maybe don’t even set yourself a daily photo, start with a weekly one.
Amazingly one of our customers saw me taking a photo in their garden in year 1, now the family have their own weekly family challenge. Every one in the family takes a photo for a theme that is picked, the winner of the previous week picks the next winner. Such a fab idea

Please note I will be sending books out from home and I am keen to reuse any packaging, so that deliveries can be a bit more sustainable. Apologies in advance if you wonder why your parcel may be in a 2nd hand wrapping.
