New to Mindful Health Chat? Here’s how it works

One of the questions I’m often asked is:

“I don’t use Instagram (or X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Bluesky etc). Can I still take part?”

The answer is absolutely!

Social media is simply how I let people know about each week’s discussion.

Mindful Health Chat itself is a website I created as a friendly, welcoming space where people can come together to talk about mental health, wellbeing and the things that matter to them.

Think of it as an online community rather than another social media platform.

How it works

Every week I create a new discussion based around a different wellbeing topic.

You can visit whenever it suits you, read what others have shared and add your own thoughts. There’s no expectation to post every week, and you’re just as welcome to read along until you feel comfortable joining in.

What about the live chat?

Every Wednesday at 8.30pm (UK time) we have an informal live chat where members can talk together in real time.

If you enjoy live conversations, it’s a lovely way to get to know other members.

Can’t make Wednesday?

No problem at all.

The discussion always stays open, so you can visit the website whenever it suits you and join in at your own pace. Whether that’s later that evening, the next day or even weeks later, your thoughts are always welcome.

Do I need social media?

No.

You don’t need Instagram, X, Facebook, LinkedIn or Bluesky to take part.

Those platforms are simply where I share the weekly discussion and invite people to join us.

All you need is the website:

Why did I create it?

Like many people, I’ve watched social media become faster, noisier and less social over the years.

I wanted to create a calm, friendly online space where people could slow down, have genuine conversations and support one another, away from the fast pace of social media.

There’s no pressure, no expectations and no right or wrong answers. Whether you visit every week or just occasionally, you’ll always be very welcome.
